And what I think of WriterAccess in general

Before I get into the changes to WriterAccess’s platform, I have to say one thing: WriterAccess has been pretty good to me. I get steady work. Not a lot of it, mind you, but I earn a steady $500–600 per month, and the hourly pay usually works out to $15–20 per hour. So it’s not bad for a freelance writing gig, and it’s flat-out wonderful compared to most other content mills.

But I’m not entirely happy with the changes to the WriterAccess platform.

The New WriterAccess Platform

WriterAccess has been planning a new platform for a long time. They were supposed to launch it months ago, but the launch was delayed. Now, finally, when we are in the middle of a lockdown and people are already stressed out, they decided it was a fine time to add to the stress by releasing a new platform.

Their timing stinks. And so does their platform. OK, well, it doesn’t so much stink as it just doesn’t work at all on Microsoft Edge. On nearly every page, I get a spinning circle of dots that just sits and spins forever. It works in Chrome, but that means I’ll have to switch browsers for writing.

Once I switched to Chrome, I was able to load my current order. Either I am blind or there is no word count…
